Year 7 student awarded special music prize!

We are delighted to announce that Year 7 student, Tabitha Collier, is due to receive a special prize and certificate from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, having secured one of last year’s highest distinction marks in the country for her Grade 6 flute exam. Tabitha has gone on from this success to also pass her Grade 7 with distinction, and this award is a wonderful acknowledgment of the  dedication and commitment she shows to her music-making. Year 12 students get insight into The Creative Process!

Last week, 17 of our Year 12 students were lucky enough to attend a Study Day at UCL Institute of Education. The day consisted of presentations by inspirational speakers from the Art world; Turner Prize winning contemporary artist Grayson Perry, Abstract artist Fiona Rae, Textile artist Rosalind Wyatt and Photographer Martin Parr. The aim of the event is to enrich and extend students’ knowledge whilst demonstrating the future potential of pursuing a career in an Art related career.

Students commented:
“The day provided us with great stimulus, motivation and encouragement in our own work.” Akunma.

”I liked the diverse range of speakers with skills such as calligraphy, stitch, painting and Grayson Perry’s inspirational talk on Creativity.” Arty.
