DAOS Artwork on display!

We were delighted to exhibit some of our GCSE artwork, alongside other primary and secondary schools in the local area, at the annual Potters Bar Carnival last weekend .  There were many wonderful compliments about the standard of the artwork created by our GCSE students from the organisers, teachers and visitors.

Many thanks to the students and Art Department for their help in organising our participation in this exhibition.

Chamber Concert success!

Many congratulations and thanks to all pupils who performed so brilliantly in Wednesday evening’s Chamber Concert, held in the Edward Guinness Hall.

Owen’s Chamber Concerts always promise a rich and varied programme of music, on this occasion including JS Bach, Traditional Brazilian, Gershwin, Holst, Jerome Kern and Rachmaninov, with performances from individual pupils, duets, trios, quartets and more!

There were accomplished performances from soloists (Isabel Jin, Jessica Vinson, Josh Gearing, Aidan Lee, Lily Wood, Dea Peshkepija, Alice Warburton, Gabriel Millard-Clothier, Louise Wise, Eleanor Davis) and from a selection of the schools’ many diverse ensembles (Piano Quartet, Year 10 Vocal Quartet, Trombone Ensemble, Year 7/8 String Quartet, Year 8 Six Hands Ensemble, Senior Brass Ensemble. Acoustic Guitar Ensemble, Advanced Flute Ensemble and Senior Saxophone Ensemble).

Our thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and management of the concert (including Mr Wilson, Mrs Acosta, the Office Staff) and to all the Ensemble Directors (Mr Hunt, Ms Makepeace-Lott, Mr Bean, Mr Widden, Mr Kelly, Mr Niesyto, Ms Huneke and Mr Crossley).
