Hertfordshire’s No. 1 Performing School at GCSE!

This week, The Department of Education released a full ranking of how all secondary schools in the country performed at GCSE and we are delighted to announce that Dame Alice Owen’s was ranked as the best performing School in Hertfordshire in this year’s GCSE exams. We had the best Attainment 8 performance, which measures the average achievement of pupils in up to eight qualifications in the county, with an average score per pupil of 70.6.

Jamnesty concert – huge success!

Many thanks to Year 13 students, Iona Marshall and Elen Hughes, for the following report:

‘The Amnesty International Youth Group ran ‘Jamnesty’ on Friday 13th October 2017, which was a huge success. All the performers were incredible – the musical standard was very high and the atmosphere in the hall was amazing. Judging from the singing and dancing in the crowd, the audience enjoyed it very much, they also raised £800 pounds that evening!’

‘All money raised will go to Amnesty International to help them help transform societies to create a safer, more just world. Thank you very much to everyone who performed or helped in making the event run so smoothly.’
