This week 16 of our A level geographers have travelled to North Wales to complete scientific investigations into a geographic topic of their choice. The weather has been mixed with a clear variation between mountainous and coastal areas. Many thanks to Mr Titley and Mr Payne for organising this trip!

Ski Sunday!

Many thanks to Mrs Wootton, our Ski Team Manager, for this report:

‘Owen’s Ski team skied really well last weekend in the regional qualifier Esskia Competition in Welwyn Garden City. All skiers tried really hard against the best teams in the region. Their efforts were rewarded as they all achieved personal bests. The boys U16 team came very close to qualifying for the national finals and are confident that they will next year. Year 9 student Arthur Bucher got the quickest runs of the day. A special thanks to teacher Mandy Davighi who was chief referee for the morning demonstrating that teachers certainly ‘Never Stop Learning’.

There will a meeting next week to find new skiers especially from year 7 who want to take on the challenge of race skiing!’
