Junior Concert – 21st June 2017

On officially the longest and hottest day of the year, the EGH was packed full of parents, friends, families and staff to see over 200 pupils play and sing in this term’s wonderful Junior Concert.

Despite the heat, everyone kept their cool (especially Mr Grimstead and members of Second Orchestra wearing sweatbands for their rendition of ‘Fame’ ) and performed brilliantly.

The quality of instrumental playing and vocal sound was truly impressive, and we were very proud of all of our musicians. Congratulations to Junior Strings, Junior Percussion Ensemble, Second Orchestra, Second Band, Junior Brass Ensemble, Junior Clarinet Ensemble and Junior Chamber Choir and our thanks to all the musical directors and school staff who made the evening possible.

Ski Sunday!

Well done to the Owen’s ski teams who took part in the London Schools Ski Competition last weekend – braving the 32 degree temperatures for the hottest skiing they have ever done! All the students were fabulous producing good runs in all ages groups. The new year 7 and 8 teams were amazing competing in a very competitive category with older year 9 students. Our older teams are shown below receiving medals in the year 10 – 13 category!  Well done to all – Mrs Davighi and Mrs Wootton are very proud!
