Money for money – reminder!

This is a reminder from the OSA (Owen’s School Association) that they are still raising funds for the School by collecting foreign notes and coins. Since they started the collections a total of £1931 has been raised!

They can accept anything that is or was once money: foreign coins or notes, old British/Irish currency, farthings to the old 50p or old, obsolete or current currency.

Please return your donations to the Main School Office as soon as possible, the last day for handing in the currency is Friday 13th January 2017.

Year 9 students pitch their shortlisted design for Design Ventura Competition!

During the last week of term, Year 9 students, Annabel Hall, Maya Korouei, Ava Lily Read and Jannes Van Winden pitched their ‘Forest Fits’ concept to a panel of judges at the Design Museum having made the top ten in the Design Ventura Competition for the 2nd year in a row! The judging panel  included renowned architect Asif Khan, Sebastian Conran and representatives from Deutsche Bank.

The team designed coasters that can be joined together to create any kind of dining experience, such as table mats and decorations and had to compete against 240 schools and more than 10,000 pupils to secure their place in the final.

The winners will be announced in February where the winning team have the opportunity for their product to be manufactured!
