The Great Gig 2018!

On Friday 29th June, DAOS hosted the Great Gig 2018. It was an evening filled with many different types of music, from an acoustic harp performance, to a band inspired by Shrek, to the headline act – The Lines (the staff band).

Our fabulous Tech Crew ran the event, with the intention of raising money to purchase new equipment, and this was a success, raising over £1000 for the crew. They wish to thank all that attended, performed, or assisted with the running of the event, and hope to see you all again for The Great Gig 2019!

Year 12 student wins composing competition!

We are delighted to announce that Year 12 student, Theo Gill, recently won the Proms 2018 fanfare composing competition for Proms at St Jude’s.

The judges were so impressed with his winning entry that it was performed twice in the final concert! Conductor Robert Max, who presented Theo with his prize said “Theo’s piece is certainly worth all the attention.”

Congratulations to Theo on this amazing achievement!
