The next opportunity to view the School is our annual open day on Thursday 20th July 2017 2-5pm.  Booking is not required.

Secondary Transfer September 2017

1st March 2017 – National Allocation Day – Your home Local Authority will have contacted you with details of the school you have been allocated.   Letters were posted from the school to successful applicants and those waiting for a place at the school detailing the continuing interest process.  If your letter has not arrived by Monday 6th March 2017 please email the Admissions Office.

If you gave Dame Alice Owen’s School a higher preference than the school you have been allocated you  will automatically continue to be considered for a place at Dame Alice Owen’s School up until the end of the summer term.  If you wish to be considered for a place beyond this time you will need to make  anew In Year application for Year 7 via Hertfordshire County Council.  This process will be explained in the letter you received.

Movement on Lists

Movement on the academic, music and distance lists will be regularly updated on this page.  Please use this as your first point of reference and please do not contact the Admissions Office for this information – this will enable them to deal with priority calls during this busy time.

Academic Places  have been offered up to and including ranked position number 145.

Music Places have been offered up to and including ranked position number 13.

Distance Criteria  2/7 – the furthest home-school distance we have been able to allocate a place to is 667.89 metres from the address point for the school.

Secondary Transfer September 2018 (current Year 5 children)

Please refer to our Key Dates for a timetable of the secondary transfer process including Test Registration and Entrance Test Dates.

If you are interested in a school place for admission in 2018 you should:-

  • Read our Admissions Arrangements for Secondary Transfer 2018 – please follow link. This will give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with our admissions rules. If you are interested in applying under our musical aptitude or academic criteria your child will need to register in order to sit our assessment tests. Please refer to our Key Dates for more information on this. Before registering you should:-
    • Ensure your Child’s permanent address falls within one of the Local Priority Areas detailed below.
    • Ensure your child is available for the dates of the tests as detailed on our Key Dates page. Please keep referring to the website for confirmed dates.

Local Priority Areas

In order to register for our Entrance Exam and/or Music Tests your child’s permanent home address must be within one of the listed areas below by the date of registration. Children from outside of these areas are not eligible to be considered under these criteria and therefore cannot take our tests.
