Annual pilgrimage to Shakespeare’s Country for our Year 13 students!

Year 13 English Literature A level students made their annual pilgrimage to Stratford Upon Avon on the 19th to 21st October. Many thanks to Mrs Beaumont for this report:

“We saw two performances: Shakespeare’s bloody tragedy, Troilus and Cressida and Christopher Marlowe’s exploration of absolute power, Tamburlaine. We enjoyed the autumnal sunshine visiting Shakespeare’s birthplace and touring backstage at The RSC Theatre, where we were provided with insight into all the work that goes on behind the scenes. In the glorious sunshine we visited Anne Hathaway’s cottage and wandered around the beautiful gardens where a young Will Shakespeare courted his pregnant and older bride. We added our comments to the Romeo and Juliet quote arbour and took many pictures.  All in all an insightful cultural visit to this beautiful market town! A huge thanks to Mr Simpson our driver and bard for the weekend and to the wonderful students who made this such a rewarding trip.”

Thank you for such a positive turn out on Thursday 18th October for the Year 10 GCSE Information Evening, it was great to see so many familiar faces. As mentioned on the night, we have shared the presentation with everyone for their own reference (please refer to the documents section to the right). Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other queries or questions about how together we best support our students in KS4.
