You might not know this yet, but Dame Alice Owen’s School is over 400 years old. That makes it one of the oldest schools in the country. The school was originally in Islington, and only moved to Hertfordshire in the 1970s.
All of the houses are named after places important to the original school in Islington, to help us to keep our links with the area. You can read more about the school’s history here.
Isledon sounds a bit like ‘Islington’ and that’s right. When Dame Alice was a little girl and Islington was just a village on the edge of the City of London, it was known as Isledon.
The Isledon house colour is Blue
There are 2 form groups in Isledon, each with a form tutor and form prefects. Your email will tell you if you are in Isledon 1 or Isledon 2. Here is a message from your form tutor to say hello!
