You might not know this yet, but Dame Alice Owen’s School is over 400 years old. That makes it one of the oldest schools in the country. The school was originally in Islington, and only moved to Hertfordshire in the 1970s.
All of the houses are named after places important to the original school in Islington, to help us to keep our links with the area. You can read more about the school’s history here.
Dame Alice Owen’s was originally two separate schools; one for boys and one for girls. Both of the schools were located just off of Goswell Road, which is where your house gets its name from.
The Goswell house colour is Green
