Key highlights of the 2023 examination results for Years 11 and 13, as reported by Headteacher Mrs H Nemko, are as follows (updated November 2023):

GCSE Results 2023 - Provisional

We are delighted to confirm that the school yet again secured an excellent set of GCSE results! We congratulate all students and staff for ALL the hard work that secured these results:

  • Progress 8 0.63 (+0.74 in 2022,+0.65 in 2019)
  • Attainment 8 71.2 (75.8 in 2022, 71.8 in 2019)
  • 90% of all year 11 students secured a strong pass (Grade 5 or above) in English and Maths (90% in 2022, 85% in 2019)
  • 95% of all year 11 students secured 5 or more 9-4 grades including English and Maths
    (95% in 2022, 93% in 2019, 96% in 2018, 96% in 2017)
  • 25% of entries secured a Grade 9 (40%in 2022, 26% in 2019)
  • 48% of entries secured a 9/8 (62%in 2022, 51% in 2019, 50% in 2018, 40% in 2017)
  • 67% of entries secured either 9, 8 or 7 (A* and A equivalent) grades (76% in 2022,70% in 2019, 70% in 2018, 67.5% in 2017)
  • 82% of all Year 11 students entered the English Baccalaureate (83% in 2022, 78% in 2019)
  • English Baccalaureate APS per pupil was 6.79 (7.29 in 2022)
  • 48% of entries in Maths and English secured grades 9 or 8 (47% in 2019)
  • 97% of entries in Maths and English secured a standard pass (grade 4 – 9)  (95% in 2022, 97% in 2018, 98% in 2017)

A Level Results 2023 - Provisional

We are delighted that students secured a great set of A level results again this year. We congratulate all students and staff for the ALL the hard work that ensured this success:

A Level Results as follows:

  • APS per A Level entry is a grade A
  • 83% of all grades were awarded A* – B (92% in 2022, 85% in 2019, 85% in 2018, 82%in 2017, 82% in 2016)
  • 27% of all entries being awarded an A*(45% in 2022,29% in 2019,30% in 2018, 25% in 2017, 21% in 2016)
  • 34% were awarded an A grade (32% in 2022, 34% in 2019 32% in 2018, 30% in 2017, 34% in 2016)
  • 61% in total of all entries awarded A* and A grades (77% in 2022, 62% in 2019, 62%in 2018, 55% in 2017, 55% in 2016, 55.6% in 2015, 60.2% in 2014)
  • 99% of all entries secured a pass grade
    (100% in 2022, 100% in 2019, 99.9% in 2018, 99.9% in 2017, 99.7% in 2016, 99.5% in 2015)
  • APS 45.92 (50.52 in 2022, 46.25 in 2019)
  • The last year Progress was published was in 2019 and it was +0.21

We are delighted to confirm that the school yet again secured an excellent set of GCSE results! We congratulate all students and staff for ALL the hard work that secured these results:

  • Attainment 8 75.8 (71.8 in 2019)
  • 90% of all year 11 students secured a strong pass (Grade 5 or above) in English and Maths (85% in 2019)
  • 95% of all year 11 students secured 5 or more 9-4 grades including English and Maths
    (93% in 2019, 96% in 2018, 96% in 2017)
  • 40% of entries secured a Grade 9 (26% in 2019)
  • 62% of entries secured an 9/8
    (51% in 2019, 50% in 2018, 40% in 2017)
  • 76% of entries secured either 9, 8 or 7 (A* and A equivalent) grades
    (70% in 2019, 70% in 2018, 67.5% in 2017)
  • 83% of all Year 11 students entered the English Baccalaureate (78% in 2019)
  • English Baccalaureate APS per pupil was 7.29
  • 54% of entries in Maths and English secured grades 9 or 8 (47% in 2019)
  • 95% of entries in Maths and English secured a standard pass (grade 4 – 9)  (97% in 2018, 98% in 2017)
