Peer Mentor

A group of Year 12 students have been trained to provide peer-mentoring support to students in Year 7 who have been nominated by their Form Tutor/Pastoral Team who feel they might benefit from the scheme.  Requests from parents or from students themselves are also encouraged.

Mentors support both emotionally and academically to help students settle into secondary school.  They are always ready to give them some help with their studies or to discuss any school issues that may be worrying them.  Walk and talk sessions are usually held once a week during lower school Form Time through the school year, and there are also lunch time drop-in sessions facilitated by the mentors.
