Diversity and Inclusion

Dame Alice Owen’s School promotes an ethos of opportunity for all in a supportive, academic community and we therefore aim to make the school a safe and happy learning environment in which all students can aim high.  As a school, we know that we could not truly achieve this goal unless individuals of all ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexualities and beliefs feel they can benefit equally from the opportunities our school offers and feel included and respected.

We are determined that prejudice will not be tolerated at Dame Alice Owen’s School.  Nor will any other behaviour or language which makes others feel persecuted, belittled, isolated or harmed in any way.  We are proud of our richly diverse school community and believe it is the school’s purpose to empower and educate this community against intolerance of all kinds.  We want to ensure that everyone in our school continues to learn about and understand issues relating to respect for diversity, so that an attitude of opposition to racism, sexism, homophobia, and bigotry is embedded in our school culture.
