Islington Applicants

How are Islington children allocated places?

We are bound by our Admission rules to accept at least 20 children from Islington. The criteria under which these 20 children are allocated places, comes from our
Oversubscription criteria within our admissions arrangements.

In order to ensure our Islington quota is achieved, Islington places are offered in accordance with our admissions oversubscription criteria as follows;

  1. Looked after children
  2. 22 closest
  3. Siblings
  4. Musical Aptitude (Maximum 10 places)
  5. Academic Exam (Maximum 65 places)
  6. Staff places
  7. Closest to the school

* Children with EHCPs are included in the arrangements..

If we find there are less than 20 Islington children who have been allocated places from the above criteria, we allocate to the next highest ranked child on the Islington music or academic list depending on where there is a vacancy.

Check out this video of our current Islington students talking about how easy their journey is to Dame Alice Owen’s School.
