U13 girls football team win County Wix Trophy
On Monday 28th March the under 13 Girls’ Football team (comprising girls from year 7 & 8) played against Beaumont School in the final of the County NASUWT Shield. This is the first time a girls football team from Owen’s has reached a county final in over a decade. The team took an early lead through Emilie and added two further goals in the first half from Ellie. Captain and player of the match Eva completed the scoring in the second half with a goal from a free kick just inside the opposition’s half to ensure that the game was out of Beaumont’s reach and crown the girls as County Champions.
