Biology in Action

Mrs Doust, Mrs Lofthouse, Mrs Mukherjee and 60 year 12 and 13 biologists went to London today for the Biology in Action lectures. They’ve heard from a wide range of scientists including Nessa Carey (talking about CRISPR gene editing) and Lewis Dartnell (an astrobiologist!). We were all captivated and astonished by Tim Underwood’s research into oesophageal cancer and enjoyed asking questions about his experiences as a surgeon. An inspirational day that showcases the breadth of biology in the real world and explores the future of research.
