The Dame Alice Owen’s Eco Committee created a video showcase to highlight the innovative eco efforts that they have been putting in around the school to the Young People’s Trust for the Environment and came in as runners up in their Eco Action Awards!
As runner up, they will receive £1,000 to be used to further the Eco Committee’s fantastic work.
“I am so proud of their achievement – the Year 12 students wrote out the script and then organised it all between themselves to video everything, interview each other and then one of the Year 12 boys edited it all together. It was most definitely a collaborative effort. They have worked so hard throughout the school year to design engaging and interactive programmes to improve sustainability around the school and this has allowed more students to take part. They have loads of ideas and plans for the future and the money won will help them to carry out these project.” reflected teacher Mrs Knight.
