Earlier this week, DAOS welcomed the TikToc trend-setter, Formz.
Formz is a rapper, BBC Bitesize presenter, writer and Sky Sports commentator, working in different areas to pursue his dreams.
Formz discussed with Y7 and Y8 students the importance of working hard at school, why education is so important, how it impacts life after school and the options pupils have after school.
He also shared his own personal stories and achievements.
The talk was very uplifting and encouraged pupils to work hard and reach for their goals. The performance was also linked to bullying, which is something Formz has been affected by, and a topic that he is very passionate about. Formz spoke to students about the importance of respecting everyone around us for our differences and why it is wrong to bully anyone.
We were also delighted to discover that Mrs Nemko and Mr Jackson had both previously taught Formz at another school! The performance was also watched by one of our visiting Ofsted inspectors who was equally blown away by the powerful message that Formz delivered alongside his music.
At the end of the Y8 session, Formz spoke to students and Zain in Year 8 asked advice about his own music. Formz quickly realised that Zain is a talented saxophonist and has invited Zain to join him in his studio to feature on his next single.
