Huge congratulations to all Dame Alice Owen’s students involved in organising and taking part in ‘The Tubeathon’ last weekend.
This fundraising initiative, by some of our Y13 students and friends, aimed to raise vital funds for Knives Not Lives charity by walking the London Underground, from station to station, until the end of the day when all teams collectively had walked every one of the 272 official London Underground tube stations by foot. A feat that had never been completed before – until now!
The event was an immense success with over £8,000 raised for the charity. In addition, the organisers worked tirelessly to secure some press about their endeavours and even managed to get onto BBC London News!
