Congratulations to the Y10 Octet and the Y13 Trio who were selected for the prestigious Finals Concert of the South East Schools Chamber Music Competition
The Year 13 Trio, Ben Connolly, Kayla Nicol and Sohan Kalirai performed Madrigal Sonata by Martinu.
We were very excited when the adjudicators, Michael Dussek and Garfield Jackson declared that, by unanimous decision, they were the winners of the Senior Category with “a performance with a lot of charm, with well-shaped phrases and good ensemble and dialogue. They captured the somewhat quirky light-heartedness of the style, but also gave good character to the warmer, more intimate side of the music.”
