A group of Dame Alice Owen’s Year 10 students took part in a “Maths Feast” event this week at Barnwell Upper School. The event was organised and run by the AMSP (Advanced Mathematics Support Programme) and aimed to provide fun and educational challenges, testing problem-solving and teamwork skills.
There were several rounds requiring different skills and strategies for success. Each event took between two and three hours, and awards were be given for good teamwork and for the winning team of each round.
The Owen’s team did brilliantly and came second overall, narrowly missing out by 1 point! There were 4 rounds in the competition and they scored highly in all.
