Entrance Examination and Musical Aptitude Tests
Results of the first round Musical Aptitude Tests were emailed to all candidates on Thursday 12th September. If your child sat the first round tests and you have not received an email, please let our Admissions Office know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org Those who achieved a mark of 47 or above have been invited back for an individual test week commencing 23rd September.
Results of the first round of the Entrance Tests were emailed to candidates on Tuesday 17th September. If your child sat the first round tests and you have not received an email, please contact our Admissions Office by emailing email@example.com The highest ranked 325 candidates have been invited back to sit the English and Maths tests on the 28th September.
Making An Application
If you are interested in applying for a secondary transfer place starting in September 2020 (this includes Siblings, Looked After Children, Locality, Exam, Music, Staff), you should:-
- Read our Admissions Arrangements for Secondary Transfer 2020. This will give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with our admissions rules.
- Between 1st September – 31st October 2019 include Dame Alice Owen’s School as one of your preferences when you submit your Common Application Form (CAF) to your home Local Authority. NB This is the ONLY form you need to complete to make an application. There is NO additional form required by the School.
You may wish to visit the School during a normal school session on the Wednesday 16th , Thursday 17th, or Friday 18th October at 9am. Please visit our Key Dates page for more information on this and a timeline of other dates.

Map – Allocation of Local Places
22 places are allocated every year (under criterion 2) to applicants living closest to the School. The map below shows the furthest distance allocated to over the past 3 years. Sometimes we are able to offer further distance places under criterion 7. The student audit reports below show how many places have been allocated under distance year on year.
