During the summer break, Dame Alice Owen’s received notification that we have been awarded the Eco Schools Green Flag accreditation thanks to the DAOS Eco Committee’s exceptional work and tireless commitment to this programme last school year.
The Green Flag Award is an internationally recognised accreditation that highlights Owen’s ability to deliver innovative, inspirational and impactful sustainability work within our school grounds.
Now that we have this status, we must strive to maintain the same level of excellence and the Eco Committee have specified a number of upcoming projects to help achieve this including:
September ‘Save the Spiders’, Walk to School Week, Festive Jumper Swap and a new initiative by the D&T department that will allow us to shred plastic material and recycle it.
