A lot of progress has been made during the Easter holidays. The building is now connected to all services and IT, fire and CCTV links have been made to existing buildings. Curtain walling is currently being installed.

Internal mechanical and electrical works are now at an advanced stage and the central staircase has now been installed. The classrooms are now very recognisable!

Now that the building envelope is complete, we will be saying goodbye to the tower crane in early March. Internal works are ahead of schedule but the snow and high winds over the winter have brought some delays to external works. We are hoping this current good weather continues.

Despite problems with the winter weather causing a few delays, we are making great progress on the teaching block. A ‘Topping Out’ ceremony was held to mark the completion of the roof- a significant milestone. Our internal fixtures and fittings wish list is complete and we will be ordering as soon as all our funding...

We are now at full height with the roof slab in place and stairs installed. Brickwork to start in January. We were very pleased that one of our students has been able to spend a day’s work experience on the site with Evers. All going really well so far!

The building is progressing very rapidly and we are now up to roof level. These photos were taken before the second floor concrete pour but give an indication of the work involved.

Here is the latest bulletin from our builders. It is progressing very quickly with the foundations now completed. We will all start to notice big changes as it ‘grows’ out of the ground.

During the summer holidays, the piling has been completed, the foundations are near completion and the tower crane arrived and is in full use. It definitely looks like a building site!
